Accessibility Statement
Last updated: March 31, 2026
MortgageeClauses.com is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Our Commitment
Every insurance professional should be able to access mortgagee clause information quickly and easily, regardless of ability. Accessibility is built into our design and development process from the start, not added as an afterthought.
Accessibility Features
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements (search, buttons, links, menus, accordions, pricing toggles) are fully operable via keyboard. Visible focus indicators appear on all interactive elements.
- Screen reader compatibility: We use semantic HTML5 elements, ARIA labels, roles, and live regions to ensure screen readers accurately interpret page content, including dynamic search results and clause data.
- Color contrast: Text and interactive elements maintain a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 (normal text) and 3:1 (large text) against their backgrounds. Our Navy (#1B2A4A) and Teal (#1D9E75) palette was selected with WCAG contrast compliance in mind.
- Resizable text: All text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality using browser zoom.
- Alt text: All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images use empty alt attributes.
- Form labels: All form inputs (search, login, signup, billing) are properly labeled and associated with their labels for screen reader users.
- Focus management: When interacting with dynamic elements (search preview, FAQ accordions, pricing toggle, modal dialogs), focus is managed programmatically to prevent confusion for assistive technology users.
- No flashing content: The site does not contain content that flashes more than three times per second.
- Consistent navigation: Navigation structure and patterns are consistent across all pages.
- Copy confirmation: The one-click copy feature provides both visual ("Copied!") and ARIA live region announcements for screen reader users.
- Error identification: Form validation errors are clearly identified in text, associated with the relevant input field, and announced to screen readers.
- Skip navigation: A "Skip to main content" link is available for keyboard users to bypass repeated navigation.
- Responsive design: The site is fully functional at all viewport sizes from 320px to 2560px+, ensuring accessibility on mobile devices and assistive technology displays.
